Leaving his home country USA for a semester-long odyssey in Bali, Corey's journey with Upskill Study was filled with insightful discovery. Venturing beyond the conventional bounds of academia, he delved into the intricate ecosystems of tropical biology and conservation, guided by the expertise of Udayana University. From the lush jungles teeming with diverse flora and fauna to the pristine shores lapped by turquoise waves, Corey's days were filled with awe-inspiring encounters and enriching experiences. Captivated from the Get-Go
Bali, known as the Island of Gods, welcomed me with open arms, and from the get-go, I was captivated by its natural beauty. Imagine waking up every day surrounded by palm trees, crystal-clear waters, and the sounds of exotic wildlife—it's a dream come true for any nature enthusiast.
One of the highlights of my time in Bali was the opportunity to study at Udayana University, where I delved deep into the intricacies of tropical flora and fauna. From hands-on lectures to engaging field trips across the island, I gained invaluable insights into the wonders of biodiversity conservation.
But it wasn't just about studying, Bali offered so much more beyond the classroom walls. Whether it was catching waves at some of the world's best surf spots or immersing myself in the local culture, there was never a dull moment. And let me tell you, the Balinese hospitality is second to none—I felt right at home from the moment I arrived.

Memorable Encounter
One of the most memorable experiences during my semester was visiting the Turtle Conservation Education Center in Serangan Island. Learning about the efforts to protect these magnificent creatures was both inspiring and eye-opening. It reminded me of the importance of conservation and the role we all play in preserving our planet's precious ecosystems.
And let's not forget about the incredible opportunities that Bali has to offer. Although it might not directly influence my future career path, Upskill Study has given me a fair amount of insight for my next steps. Through an internship with a Reef Foundation during my semester, I gained hands-on experience in marine conservation—an experience that opened my eyes to new possibilities for my future career path.
So, to all the aspiring biologists and conservationists out there, I can't recommend studying in Bali enough. The winter semester at Upskill is still open for applications, and trust me, it's an opportunity you won't want to miss.
