A Program Rooted in Excellence
Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, the Master Program in Sustainable Finance and Development was officially established through Decree Number 471/E/O/2023 on June 6, 2023. This prestigious program is globally recognized, ranking second in the world after the Master of Advanced Studies in Sustainable Finance and Development at the Geneva Graduate Institute, Switzerland. Furthermore, it has received Good Accreditation as per Decree Number 269/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.P/M/I/2024 on January 30, 2024, reinforcing its credibility and academic rigor.
This program is a collaborative effort, supported by key national institutions such as Bappenas (Indonesia’s National Development Planning Agency) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Through these partnerships, Udayana University ensures that its curriculum aligns with national development goals, sustainable finance policies, and industry needs.

A Comprehensive and Transdisciplinary Curriculum
The Master Program in Sustainable Finance and Development offers an interdisciplinary curriculum combining finance, sustainability, policy, and environmental management. With a total of 54 credit units (CU) equivalent to 90 ECTS, students complete the program in just three semesters. The core courses include Sustainability Science, SDGs and Global Sustainability, Biodiversity and Sustainable Ecotourism, Environmental Policy, Law, and Administration, as well as Sustainable Finance. These foundational subjects provide students with a deep understanding of how financial systems interact with sustainability goals.
Students can specialize in one of two tracks tailored to their career aspirations. The Sustainable Development (SD) track focuses on Strategic Environmental Studies, SDGs Action Plan and e-MONEV, alongside electives such as Green Economy, Smart Cities, and Social Forestry. Meanwhile, the Sustainable Finance (SF) track delves into Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Ecosystem, SF Action Plan and Sustainability Reporting, complemented by electives covering FinTech, ESG, Biodiversity Finance, and Extended Cost-Benefit Analysis. Beyond coursework, the program includes an internship, a research thesis, and a scientific publication requirement, ensuring graduates gain hands-on experience and contribute to the academic discourse in sustainability.
