Visa Requirements

Firstly, make sure your enter permit is valid. If you Make sure your student visa with the index C9 issued from either Udayana university or upskill study. This visa applies for both semester and short course participants. Having the evisa would suffice.

Currency Exchange

Exchanging currency at the airport is convenient but often comes with slightly higher rates. It’s a good idea to exchange a small amount upon arrival and then find authorized money changers in areas like Kuta or Seminyak for better rates. Always count your money and request a receipt to avoid any scams.

Local SIM Cards

Staying connected is crucial, and purchasing a local SIM card at the airport is easy, however, our upskill team will assist you with getting your local SIM card to work upon your arrival during the airport pick up. Local SIM cards starting from 10GB of mobile data costs more or less 250,000 IDR or 14 Euro for 30 days of usage.

Luggage

Indonesia follows standard airline baggage policies, typically allowing 20-30 kg of checked luggage and 7 kg for carry-on. Be aware of restrictions on liquids, aerosols, and sharp objects in carry-on luggage, and always check with your airline for specific baggage rules.

Airport Transportation

Upon arrival, you have several transportation options. Firstly, upskill team will be available to pick you up. We will send you an arrival form should this service be requested. Otherwise, official airport taxis are available at designated stands with fixed fares, ensuring you won't be overcharged. Ride-sharing online apps like Grab and Gojek are popular in Bali and often cheaper than taxis. Additionally, many accommodations and programs offer pre-arranged airport transfers, which is a hassle-free option, especially if you have a lot of luggage.

What to Expect on Arrival

Upon landing, you'll go through customs where you need to fill out a declaration form provided during your flight. Declare any items over the allowed duty-free limits as well as goods like alcohol, tobacco, and large sums of money. Ngurah Rai International Airport has separate arrival halls for domestic and international flights; follow the signs to immigration for international arrivals, where your passport and visa will be checked.

While English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, learning a few basic Indonesian phrases can be helpful. Phrases like "Halo" (hello), "Selamat tinggal" (goodbye), and "Terima kasih" (thank you), or “Permisi” (excuse me) can make interactions smoother. Reiterate the earlier advice about exchanging a small amount at the airport and more substantial amounts at authorized money changers within the arrival hall. Information booths are also available to assist with directions, transportation, and any immediate questions you may have.

Miscellaneous (Weather, Basic Etiquette, etc)

Bali has a tropical climate with warm temperatures year-round. The wet season is from November to April, and the dry season from May to October, so pack lightweight, breathable clothing. Balinese culture values modesty, so while casual wear is acceptable, consider dressing modestly when visiting temples or local villages. Women should cover their shoulders and knees, and men should avoid going shirtless in public areas. Additionally, understanding a few basic cultural tips, like greeting with a smile or nod and using your right hand for giving and receiving items, can go a long way in respecting local customs.
