Ade Devia Pradipta: Embracing Cultural Exchange through Communication

Ade Devia Pradipta, a member of the Communications department at the Faculty of Social Political Science, found the program to be exceptionally enriching. "I gained valuable experiences interacting with our students and Mr. David (​​David J. Dalsky a P.h.D. Associate Professor at Kyoto University and the leader of the program)" she shared enthusiastically. "This program provides a platform for us to not only share our knowledge but also to learn about Intercultural Communication in both local and international contexts." Ade emphasized that effective communication transcends mere verbal exchanges; it encompasses shared meals, gestures, and traditional customs. She particularly cherished the communal dining experiences where the act of sharing food facilitated profound cultural insights and forged stronger interpersonal bonds.

Richard Togaranta Ginting: Preserving Cultural Heritage

Richard Togaranta Ginting, specializing in Library and Information Science, echoed Ade's sentiments about the program's significance. "This program is truly remarkable, offering us numerous learning opportunities," he affirmed. Richard's passion lies in the preservation and conservation of Lontar Bali, a crucial facet of Balinese heritage often overlooked by younger generations. His standout moment from the course was the visit to Puri Kauhan, where participants immersed themselves in the rich history and cultural significance of Lontar Bali.

Suksma Sushanti: Engaging with Global Perspectives

Suksma Sushanti, hailing from the International Relations Department, described the program as a dynamic platform for engaged knowledge exchange. "We gain profound insights from our students," she explained, emphasizing the program's multifaceted approach that includes traditional lectures, field trips, and interactive sessions with local communities. Suksma's teaching focuses on Globalization, Tourism, and Social Change, exploring critical perspectives on how globalization shapes Bali's socio-cultural landscape. She found each session uniquely enriching, contributing to a deeper understanding of contemporary global issues and their local implications.

Putu Titah Kawitri Resen: A Journey of Shared Experiences

Putu Titah Kawitri Resen, also from the International Relations Department, described the program as a transformative journey marked by shared experiences and cultural immersion. "It was incredibly rewarding to engage deeply with our participants on various aspects of Balinese society, from its rich cultural traditions to the challenges posed by globalization," she reflected. Co-teaching with Suksma, Putu focuses on Globalization, Tourism, and Social Change, examining how tourism development impacts Bali’s socio-economic dynamics. She highlighted the program’s immersive nature, which fosters genuine intercultural exchange and broadens perspectives on global interconnectedness.
