Our first pilot semester program in Tropical Coastal Ecology and Community-Based Management.

Marking a significant step forward in our mission to promote sustainable coastal management, through Udayana University's Magister Program of Environmental Sciences, we welcomed one participant,  whose background is environmental sciences with focus on biology and anthroposphere in ETH Switzerland, and has been a Biology college teacher for the past 15 years. With more than 20 field trips and excursions surrounding the optics of coral ecology and management, mangrove ecology and management, resource management, threat on coastal region, seagrass and seaweed, Indonesian language, Henrik shared that he has experienced and gained insights from his exploration of Balinese culture, biodiversity, and sustainability initiatives. And we are also thrilled that our second batch of postgraduate program is currently running with more participants and hopefully more students will find this program groundbreaking and significant to partake in. The success of our pilot program fueled our momentum, leading to the launch of the second batch of our postgraduate program with a growing cohort of enthusiastic participants from Germany and Austria.

Intercultural Communications & Multifaceted Globalizations: A Summer of Cross-Cultural Exchange.

As our postgraduate program ended, our team was also immediately busy with another premier first run of our summer course program with the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, a short course entitled Intercultural Communications & Multifaceted Globalizations. Our first participant David, an Associate Professor from Kyoto University, to the upskill and FISIP summer course program of Intercultural Communications 2023. This collaboration was seen as a great honor, and it is hoped that the program would raise awareness on issues related to Bali as a globalization laboratory. The 21 days of short course was intense, fruitful and exceeded both our participants, the Udayana FISIP team and the upskill team. It was more than conventional learning and studying, as we celebrated the collaborative spirit, cultural exchange, and transformative learning. It was the beginning of a continued journey towards enhanced academic collaboration and further growth of this initiative.
